about

This song comes from the Baby Friday days. My evil twin, Anthony "Duke" Colasacco, was with me the day I walked into Guitars-R-Us on the Sunset Strip, picked up a Rickenbacker and this tune came jangling out. Duke always loved this one, and tried to push it, but this is its first release, some 20-odd years later. I wrote it about the frustration living in LA. But after 5 years in Nashville, it's fitting for this town too. Heck, maybe it's even apropo for your town. It's a whopping 1:49 short, and still has all the attitude written long ago in a land far, far away. So there's that. Only my voice is much better now. So there's that, which is nice.

lyrics

THIS TOWN

This town really sucks
I’m down to my last couple of bucks
I’m no star the chicks won't fuck
Got no car and I’m stuck in

This town

This town really blows
It’s lowdown goodness knows
I got no clout I got no dough
I better get out of

This town
Brings me down

This town ain’t worth a damn
Slow down here come another traffic jam
Hey now I done all I can
Just to get out of

This town it ain't for you
This town it ain't for me
This town is for this town
And it will always be
