about

This song is about a girl named Emily. Really, you ask? Let's just say I have a flair for the obvious. We were all out celebrating db's b-day one evening and my cool-ass friend Nash Overstreet brought along a date that made me and all my buddies have to pick our jaws up from off the floor. So Kyle went home and tooled up some lyrics (see how I did that?), I wrote the music, and added a line or two. Needless to say, it's all true, lips, hips, fire, flame, the whole shhbang. Man, let me tell you, the girl was alright.

lyrics

EMILY

She was only seventeen
Lips so fine hips so mean
I looked at her she looked at me
Said her name was Emily

Man, let me tell you, the girl is alright

Emily

The fire was so hot
The flame was so high
Took a look at her thought I’d die
Another boy owned her company
But I didn’t let that bother me

Man, let me tell you, the girl is alright

Emily

She got beauty
She got grace
She got a sweet young face
And everything
Everything
In the right place

Emily
