about
Last summer while finishing "Songs About Girls" that illustrious little producer/engineer Shawn Anfinson and me were sitting having a beer at the Boro. I mentioned an album title, the one you see here. He remarked that he had never seen a title as a sentence, replete with punctuation and all. When I thought about it, neither had I, especially given that its meaning is so fitting for my life. For instance, I wanted all my musician friends to record it with me. Almost every one of them could not, would not, or did not. So there's that. My best bud and a fine drumma drumma, Tim Frisby, however, did. So there's that, which is nice. I heard keyboard parts all over this album. The crazy talented Clara Oman agreed to do just that, but was unable to live up to her end of the bargain. So there's that. She did, however, manage to sweeten up the track "Inside and Out." So there's that, which is nice. I heard an all-black Baptist choir singing background vocals, but a choir can't fit in Shawn's garage. So there's that. I did, however, manage to get my brother Michael, my bestie Jeff Ruby, and the sweet, sexy and super-talented Joelene Franco, along with Shawnicus himself, to lay down some great bv's. So there's that, which is nice. I have accepted that I will never be a world wide superstar, despite my charm, charisma and lion's heart. So there's that. However, I am incredibly fortunate and lucky to still be doing what I love all these years, with no signs of stopping. So there's that, which is nice.
